JOB SUMMARY:

The Account Service Representative will be a responsible for managing and growing an account list. This individual will be responsible for developing new business and securing Share-of-Wallet opportunities with existing business. Utilizing an organized approach of prospecting, qualifying, and presenting written and verbal solutions to primarily local companies.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage an existing account base and build a viable prospect and lead database and persist through the new business sales process to reach the key decision makers and close the sale.
  • Manage the inventories of assigned JB Dewar customer accounts for bulk fuel, bulk lubricants, packaged.
  • Negotiate and close Share of Wallet opportunities with existing customer base.
  • Build and maintain client relationships at multiple levels, including senior level.
  • Conduct on-site customer evaluations and needs assessments to effectively create and communicate product and service value-based presentations targeted to fit customer needs.
  • Perform regularly scheduled physical liquid inventory of assigned customer list as needed.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Become knowledgeable of multiple product lines of fuels, lubricants, accessories, and related equipment.
  • Maintain sales development (pipeline) reporting with current and accurate data.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to communicate account status and track pipeline progress.
  • Become proficient with back-office software system.
  • Perform regularly scheduled physical liquid fuels and non-fuels inventory for assigned customer list.
  • Work closely with other Sales Representatives on specific assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for continuing product and process training (on-line, on-site and off-site) as well as attending and participating in general sales meetings and business development strategy sessions.
  • Within reason, be available on most weekends and evenings to take emergency calls (from customer or employer) made to cell phone.

SKILLS: (Required)

  • Proven sales experience
  • Knowledge of service area (Santa Barbara County)
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and utilize the tools provided to maximize job efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Possess a positive attitude with a growth mindset.
  • Software including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Customer Relationship Management tools.
  • Ability to type at least 30 wpm.
  • Hardware including laptop computer and smart phone.

SKILLS: (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of the automotive and large equipment mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of petroleum products.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

  • Frequent standing, sitting, bending, lifting (up to 65 pounds), kneeling, twisting, reaching, climbing ladders (up to six feet with no platform – up to nine feet with platform). Able to read site gauges of various types from varying distances.
