The IT Systems Specialist will be responsible for mastering the company software applications, assisting management team with software adoption and reporting, providing software application training to the end- user community, coordinating technical issue resolution with technology related vendors, conducting departmental assessments for software utilization by department, and onboarding new staff with software application orientation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Master company software applications:
  • This role includes general IT support and troubleshooting hardware peripherals such as printers, scanners, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices to ensure optimal workplace functionality. This role includes being on-hand to respond to hardware issues, performing regular maintenance, and assisting with the setup and configuration of new equipment within the office setting.
  • Develop and maintain power-user level knowledge with company software applications: PDI Ascend ERP Software, Microsoft Office 365 Online Applications, Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Stay current on software developer relations, version releases, adoption timelines, and update/upgrade impacts to the company.
  • Identify software integration opportunities, potential third-party tools, and application alternatives that may improve productivity for the company.
  • Keep internal software knowledgebase and documentation up to date.
  1. Assist management team with software adoption and reporting:
  • Identify new ways to leverage multiple software applications capabilities.
  • Write, customize, and run scheduled reports for management team from Ascend using Crystal reports and SQL queries.
  • Install and update company software applications.
  1. Manage or assist in implementation of new software/IT based projects such as web-based customer portal, payroll/time and attendance, fuel delivery and invoicing, etc.
  2. Conduct assessments for software utilization by department and location:
  • Observe how software applications are used by departmental teams and advise staff on best practices.
  • Identify situations where productivity is hindered by poorly performing systems and coordinate with technology vendors and management team to implement solutions.
  • Troubleshoot software issues encountered by users.
  • Develop and maintain data integrations between various software platforms.
  • Ensure performance, security and availability of databases.
  • Coordinate new client device deployments with technology vendor.
  1. Interact routinely with third party support vendors (phone, cell phone, outside IT, etc.) to ensure user tickets, system projects and needs are addressed timely. This will also include management of fire walls, spam, wireless access, passwords, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Technical degree in relevant technology related field (Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Development, Business Analytics, etc.).
  • Note: Relevant experience can substitute for educational requirements.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience deploying or supporting software systems.

Required Skills:

  • Passion for software and the end user experience
  • Proficient in Crystal Reports and SQL reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
  • Strong SQL Server database administration skills
  • Strong experience working with SQL servers and relational database systems.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting software applications
  • Experience with IT Project Management
  • Strong skills in T-SQL development (stored procedures, functions, etc.)
  • Ability to develop and execute SQL scripts to resolve production issues.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and written.
  • Adequate interpersonal skills and the ability to accommodate diverse learning styles and personality types.
  • Robust troubleshooting, time management and organizational skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency with current phone system and cell phone technology. Ability to manage related hardware.
  • Proficiency with current server and user technology (desktops and laptops). Ability to manage related hardware.
  • Proficiency with current copier systems and technology. Ability to manage related hardware and connectivity to networks, desktops, and laptops.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Frequent Standing, sitting, bending, lifting, hand and finger movements associated with keyboard, mouse, and phone operation.
  • Near, mid-range and far vision.
  • Occasional moderate lifting (up to 25 pounds).

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
