Job Title: Mechanical & Facilities Maintenance Technician I

Hours: Monday – Friday, call outs, after hours, holidays and weekend work at overtime rates is required
Supervisor: Distribution Manager
Pay Range: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour DOE
Job Summary:
Under general supervision perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, to fuel, oil and air delivery systems, light electrical work, both AC/DC electrical repairs in various industries, on JB Dewar Inc. owned equipment and facilities. Ability to advance to higher levels within the Mechanical & Facilities Maintenance department.
Essential Skills & Responsibilities:
- Cleaning interior and exterior of petroleum tanks. Wire wheel/sand down exterior surfaces and apply fresh coat of primer/paint as needed
- General knowledge of pump systems. (i.e. lube and fuel pumps, meters, oil controls desirable)
- Must have good knowledge of mechanics and mechanical skills
- General electrical and plumbing, (including black pipe, tubing, PVC, air, and water) knowledge.
- Must be able to manage time and work with minimal supervision
- Keep accurate time, material and field documentation in English.
- Must be able to use e-mail to communicate and document work and answer questions.
- Keep JB Dewar maintenance vehicle and work area clean and stocked with agreed upon inventory.
- Valid Class C or better California Driver License with a clean driving record to operate company owned vehicles. Will be required to obtain Hazardous Materials Endorsement within 90 days of employment.
Desirable Skills:
- Willingness to attend industry training and obtain Certifications
- Install/troubleshoot/repair cardlock controls, remote tank monitoring equipment
- Preventative maintenance inspections of fuel and lube truck pumping equipment
- Ability to coordinate more than one project at a time and meet established deadlines.
- Knowledge of invoicing, inventory control, special parts ordering process
- California Department of Weights & Measures certified within the first 180 days of employment (company will supply training materials)
- Veeder-Root Level 1 certification within first 180 days of employment (company will supply training material)
- Forklift certified within the first 90 days of employment (company will supply training material)
Essential Physical Functions:
- Kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing, driving, grasping, fingering, keyboarding and bending down required.
- Able to lift 50 lbs (may be required to perform lifting test)
- Required to work from heights, at times from ladders and other types of platforms
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking on (normal, uneven, slippery surfaces)
