Commercial Delivery Driver

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Detail oriented to ensure correct product and quantity is loaded and delivered to customers.
• Must be able to climb in and out of the cab and the back of the truck several times per day.
• Deliver a variety of bulk lubes, packaged goods & fuels to a variety of customers.
• Back-up other drivers who are on vacation or out due to sickness.
• Pride of work including taking care of company owned equipment.
• Should be familiar with safety, spill/overfill and recovery procedures. (training provided)
• Must take and follow direction from dispatcher to make assigned deliveries in an efficient manner.
• Good communication, both verbal and written skills are essential.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack and hand truck, (training provided)
• Excellent social skills are a must as this position has many interactions with customers.
• Must navigate and drive a truck through sometimes difficult circumstances
• Must learn how to use a pumping system, flush volumes and product compatibility
• Must fill out paperwork (customer deliver paperwork, daily vehicle inspection and tire report)
• Adaptable to new technologies

SKILLS: (desired but not required)

• Past experience as route delivery driver. (Fuel or lubes experience a plus)
• Familiar with San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Barbara County areas.
• Experience or knowledge of petroleum products and pumping/metering systems helpful.
• Some computer skills desired (i.e., email, cell phone)

SKILLS: (Required)

• Class A or B CDL with Haz Mat and Air Brake Endorsements and possess a clean driving record.

QUALITIES:

• Team player, friendly (both for customers and staff)
• Ability to navigate and be oriented out in the field (sometimes directions from customers are vague)
• Ability to communicate well, and express ideas or preferences on how the truck is loaded
• Willing to go the extra mile… literally sometimes we have to redirect and adapt
• Self-confident in his abilities to provide the service we offer, punctual and attentive, Solid hard and working, ethical, to have the ability to communicate with others.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Frequent standing, sitting, bending, lifting, able to lift at least 75 pounds and climb ladders.
