Job Title: Mechanical & Facilities Maintenance Technician II
Status: Full Time Hourly
Department: Mechanical & Facilities Maintenance
Location: San Luis Obispo
Hours: Monday – Friday, call outs, after hours, holidays and weekend work at overtime rates is required
Supervisor: Distribution Manager
Pay Range: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
Job Summary:
Under general supervision perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, to fuel, oil and air delivery systems, light electrical work, both AC/DC electrical repairs in various industries, on company and customer owned equipment and facilities. Ability to advance to higher levels of responsibility within Mechanical & Facilities Maintenance department.
Essential Job Duties:
- Skilled knowledge of pump systems. (i.e. lube and fuel pumps, meters, oil controls desirable)
- Must have good knowledge of mechanics and mechanical skills
- General electrical and plumbing knowledge – AC/DC and low voltage before Add tubing, PVC, steel pipe, stainless steel, plumbing
- Must be able to manage time and work with minimal supervision
- Keep accurate time and material records
- Must be able to use e-mail to communicate and document work
- Keep JB Dewar maintenance work area vehicle clean and stocked with agreed upon inventory
- Must have personal hand tools, JB Dewar will provide specialized tools
- Needs good communication skills
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Install/troubleshoot/repair cardlock controls, remote tank monitoring equipment
- Preventative maintenance inspections of fuel and lube truck pumping equipment
- Knowledgeable in the repair/troubleshooting of fuel and oil pumps and pumping systems
- Knowledgeable in the repair/troubleshooting of air compressors
- Must be able to operate a crane (company will provide training)
Desirable Skills:
- Willingness to attend industry training and obtain Certifications
- Ability to coordinate more than one project at a time and meet established deadlines
- Valid Class C or better California Driver’s License with a clean driving record to operate company provided vehicle. Will be required to obtain Hazardous Materials Endorsement within the first 90 days of employment
- Computer knowledge of software and communication applications for industry equipment operation including but not limited to OPW, Fill-Rite, Veeder-Root, Wayne, Tolkeim and Gasboy
- Should have or be able to obtain Industry Certifications: Red Jacket, Petrovend, Gasboy, Veeder-Root, Healy
- Passing Weights & Measures and Designated Operator certifications will be required within 180 days of employment
Essential Physical Functions:
- Kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching, climbing, pulling, pushing, driving, grasping, fingering, keyboarding and bending down required.
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Required to work from heights, at times from ladders and other types of platforms
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking on (normal, uneven, slippery surfaces)
