We Power the Community

Cole Henry
2nd place winner and recipient of the Alex Madonna Memorial Award, Cole Henry from Templeton High School, who restored a 1947 Massey Harris Pony.

Whether it’s pounding the pavement to raise money and awareness or helping a young person wrench on a tractor in an old barn, JB Dewar is most proud of what we do outside the office, in the community, where it counts. We are proud to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and excited to advance the learning of the next generation through programs like JB Dewar Tractor Restoration Education Competition and the Poly Built team. These are just a few of the organizations that JB Dewar works hard to fuel forward.

Tractor Restoration Education Program

In our agriculturally rich community, we are proud to teach young students life lessons through the Tractor Restoration Education Program. JB Dewar advises participants, teaching them teamwork, project management, budgeting, planning and marketing skills throughout the process. Each year at the California Mid-State Fair, competitors are provided a platform to share their workmanship, along with opportunities to win scholarship awards. Since 2002, JB Dewar, Chevron Delo®, the Alex Madonna family, together with other local businesses, have awarded over $100,000 in scholarships, showing students that hard work and dedication really do pay off.

PolyBuilt

JB Dewar is a proud sponsor of the PolyBuilt Team, a Cal Poly student run organization within the BioResource and Agricultural Engineering Department. Each year the team designs, builds, and markets a commercial tractor built to quarter scale, gaining practical experience in drive train systems design, tractor performance, 3-D modeling, materials and manufacturing processes. The objective is to compete in the ASABE (American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers) International Quarter Scale Tractor Design Competition, held in Peoria, Illinois, where their work is judged by an esteemed panel of industry experts.

Rodeo

Cal Poly Tractor Pull & Rodeo

The largest event at the annual Cal Poly Open House, Tractor Pull draws nearly 4,000 spectators and over 50 competitors each year. JB Dewar truly enjoys sponsoring an event where the hard-working students of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Sciences are rewarded with generous scholarships.

Cal Poly Rodeo has been part of the community for over 60 years, and JB Dewar has been a supporter for many of them. No other college has produced more Rodeo World Champions, Collegiate Champions, or Rodeo Hall of Fame inductees than Cal Poly. We are honored to contribute to this established program, which has helped so many young athletes achieve their goals.

Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County 4-H & FFA

JB Dewar is a proud sponsor of today’s 4-H and FFA youth at the Santa Barbara County Fair and the Paso Robles Mid-State Fair.
